How is The Matrix fits to Monomyth and The Plato's Allegory of the Caves?

How is it fits to Monomyth?

Stage 1: Departure
Neo aware of the present of ideal world. A guider, Morpheus give a guide to Neo to bring him to the ideal world as he told Neo that Neo is actually  the savior of the world. Neo can actually do his decision whether he willing to go to the ideal world. He choose and eat the red pill (1st stage he need to do to go to the ideal world), he awake in a liquid fill vessel. He saw many liquid fill vessel around him, each one fill with one people with a lot of pipe plug on their body, he is also same with all of them. However, the difference is that he is awake  but the others are sleeping. Neo is after that brought to the place where the Morpheus is.

Stage 2: Initiation
Neo feel hard to breath in the ideal world and he is faint. Every members in the ideal world hel him to change the system in his body. After that, Neo is told the difference of real world and ideal world. He is engage to awake everyone in the world. Then, Neo need to learn a lot of "kung fu" which use to fight with the agent. Besides, he also need to change his mind -- everything can be possible. He had also learn other lesson after the. He had bring to visit the Oracle. The Oracle the him he is actually not the savior of the world. However, he had save Morpheus at the last (done a savior's job). He had realized on what is the purpose he want to live in the world. He is willing to share what he had experience to everyone in the world.

Stage 3: Return
Neo do not decide to return to the real world and forgot everything in the ideal world. He decide to live in both the worlds since he know the difference between both. He had finish his journey and he know that the knowledge he had gain are beneficial the the world.

How is it fits to Plato's Allegory of the Caves?

In The Matrix, everyone in the real world are consider the prisoners. They can't really see the ideal world. Everything they had seen and done are a shadow, an imagination, a system which always control them to allow the system run smoothly ( this system help them to gain energy). Neo is guided to run out of the real world. He saw everyone are sleeping and their body are pluging with a lot of pipes. He is same as others, plug by a lot of pipes but what he is different is he is awake. He had aware and learn a lot of knowledge in the ideal world. He decide to live in both the real and ideal worlds finally. He is willing to share with everyone in the real world about what he gain from the ideal world.

How is it fits to monomyth?

There are 17 stages in the monomyth. Neo have to deal with the first stage which is "the call to adventure". He was called by a man named morpheus and met him in a room. He was asked to choose whether he want to know the truth or forgot everything after he woke up.Red pills and Blue pills were given to him and he had chosen the red pills which brought him to the world of the reality.

Next, he was in "the crossing of the first threshold "'s stage. After consumed the red pills given by morpheus, he was found reborn in a machine filled with liquid-filled vessel just like the amniotic fluid in a pregnant woman's womb. His body was connected with some electrical gadgets and was brought to Morpheus's ship - Nebuchadnezzar.

After he comforted himself surviving in the real world, he had the opportunity to meet with the Oracle who knows to predict the future. This suits the stages of "the meeting with godness" and the Oracle told him that he wasn't the chosen one. However he was given "the ultimate boon" as he has the ability to adapt himself to different changing circumstances and learned various types of skills and techniques very fast. Finally, he was quite successful to return as a Saviour to fight against the matrix.

How is it fits into the plato 's allegory's caves?

In this allegory, as we know that plato describes the prisoners in the cave were unable to move his head to right or left and were chained on the wall of the cave. Behind them have a camp fire burning while the puppeteers hold puppets that cast shadows on the cave's wall. The prison only able to see the view of their front which is the shadows and the sounds from the puppets. The role of the matrix is just like the puppeteers who share the wrong informations/messages to the people. Matrix makes the people to live unconsciously in the dream world and refuse to tell the truth to them. Pity people were kept inside a drum and will never able to know the truth. Therefore Neo was given a mission to free the mind of these people that were kept in the drum. They have the rights to know what actually happened to the real world. He has to unchained the people who live in the cave(world of matrix) and let them know that everything they feel and touch are not real as they are controlled by the matrix.
